Deborah Jean Casey (Squires), 73, of Monroe, NC, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2026. She was born in Hartford, Connecticut, to William and Barbara Squires.

Debbie was predeceased by her parents, William and Barbara Squires of Windsor Locks, Connecticut; her brother, Mark Squires of Windsor Locks, Connecticut; and her beloved fur babies, Lola, Sadie, and Lucy.

She leaves behind her loving husband, Thomas Casey of Monroe, NC; her daughters, Jody Winfield of Monroe, NC, and Liberty Wall of Charlotte, NC; her grandchildren, Jesse Kirk (Yasmine), Samantha Covington (Morris), Trinity Thompson (Cherrie), Patricia Faith Kirk, Shealyn and Jordan; and her great-grandchildren, Corbin, Kobie, Korie, Kinsley, Aubrey, and Samuel. She is also survived by her siblings, Tim Squires (Bob) of Connecticut, Brian Squires (Caroline) of Connecticut, Susan Lusardi (Tom) of Florida, and Daniel Squires of Connecticut, as well as her sister-in-law, Andrea Squires of New Hampshire; and her nieces and nephew, along with many extended family members and dear friends who loved her deeply.

Debbie loved her family and friends with all her heart and cherished every moment she was able to spend with them. She was a talented and creative crafter who found great joy in making beautiful things and sharing her gifts with others. She especially enjoyed her time at the senior center, where she made many wonderful friendships and created lasting memories. Debbie also volunteered with Project Linus, giving her time and creativity to help bring comfort to children in need.

She loved being outdoors, whether she was relaxing at the beach or tending to her beloved garden. She and her husband shared many happy hours watching their favorite game shows together, and she could often be found around the table playing cards, where her competitive spirit always shined through.

One of Debbie’s greatest joys was teaching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren how to bake, passing along not only her skills and treasured recipes, but also the love, laughter, and memories that came with them. She had a special way of making every occasion brighter, especially during the holidays, when she was at her most festive and always dressed the part.

Above all, Debbie will be remembered for the love she gave so freely, the laughter she shared, her creativity, her generous heart, and the countless memories she created with the people who meant the most to her. She had a way of bringing people together and making them feel loved, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Her love, laughter, creativity, and joyful spirit will live on forever in the hearts of her family and friends.
