Debbie A Martelli, age 74, passed away on April 27, 2026 after a brief one month battle with Pancreatic cancer.

Born on October 12, 1951, Debbie was the beloved daughter of the late Connie and Art Anthonsen of Huntington, NY. She was a proud graduate of Huntington High School and went on to earn her degree from Centenary College.

Debbie devoted her career to shaping young lives as a preschool teacher, where her patience, warmth, and kindness left a lasting impact on countless children and families. She was known for her gentle spirit and her ability to make everyone feel valued and loved.

Outside of her work, Debbie found great joy in crafting. She was an avid creator who especially loved card making, calligraphy, and cross stitch, often sharing her beautiful handmade creations with others. Her generosity knew no bounds, and she gave freely of her time, talents, and heart.

A devoted member of Huntington United Methodist Church, Debbie lived her faith through service, compassion, and unwavering kindness.

Debbie is survived by her loving husband, Phil Martelli; her children, Amy Banihashemi (Jim) and Rebecca Ammons (Chris); siblings Douglas Anthonsen and Jane Merrill and all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.

A celebration of Debbie’s life will be held from 2:00pm until 4:00pm on May 30, 2026, at Wingate United Methodist Church, 111 Hinsen Street, Wingate, NC and in Kings Park, NY on July 12. Please contact the family for details.

Debbie will be remembered for her compassion, creativity, and the deep love she shared with her family, friends, and community. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
