Dean Cosgrove, age 52, passed away on September 13, 2026, in his home in Gastonia, North Carolina.

Born in Syosset, New York, on September 26, 1973. He lived a life of experience, hard work, and devotion. He was an imaginative woodworker and enjoyed music and the beauty of nature. Dean was always honest and never afraid to tell the truth. He was diligent, patient, humble, and stubborn enough to make sure everyone knew when he was right.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ray Dixon Cosgrove and Danielle Maher. He is survived by his brother, Chad (Amy) Cosgrove, and their children Alison and Emma; his sister, Geanine Cosgrove-Neal, and her children Kris and Connor; his children, Dayle Austin, Matthew Cosgrove, and Erin Cosgrove (Allan Kepler); and several other nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

In his wishes, may we not mourn and lament his death, but rather remember and celebrate his life and honor his legacy. Dean leaves behind memories, laughter, unfinished projects, and plenty of stories. May we remember him in the lives he's touched and in the contentment of the simple things.
