� Crystal Eileen Davis Benton, 83, of Monroe, NC passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, February 03, 2017 after living for years with Dementia. She was born Crystal Eileen Davis in New Auburn, Wisconsin on June 13, 1933 to the late Irma Frances Kollwitz. She attended Edgewood High School in Madison, Wisconsin, where she also met and fell in love with Arnold "Arnie" Ray Benton, then Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force at Truax Field in Madison. They were married in Madison on June 12, 1954. Crystal was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Arnie, who passed away on their anniversary in 2013.� She is survived by their four children: Teresa Benton Frazier, Dawn Benton Cady, Arnold Craig Benton and Regina Benton Allen, all of Monroe, ten grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, as well as two sisters, Ardella Pecha of Bloomer, Wisconsin and Karen Achberger of Northfield, Minnesota. Crystal was a homemaker for 57 years after leaving the workforce as a secretary to raise her children.� She had a green thumb and loved to grow violets, which would adorn the windowsills in her home.�� In later years, whenever you would visit her home, you could find her busily putting together a jig-saw puzzle. She was a member of VFW Post 5464 Women's Auxiliary and of Shiloh Advent Christian Church in Monroe.�� She will be remembered for her smile and the love she showed for her "grandbabies." A service to celebrate Crystal's life will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, February 5, 2017, in the Shiloh Advent Christian Church Sanctuary. Rev. Billy Mobley, Rev. Travis Hutchison, and Rev. Justin Nash will be officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 PM until 2:45 PM in the church fellowship hall. Entombment will follow in the Lakeland Memorial Park Mausoleum.
