Cris Sammy Cortez Cortez was a loving son, brother, cousin, and friend. He suddenly left this world on February 8th, 2022 at age 19. Cris was born on July 11, 2002 in Monroe, NC, son of Samuel Cortez and Guillermina Cortez. Survivors include his loving mother Guillermina; his father Samuel; his brother Crisitian; his sister Kelasley. In addition, an extended loving family and friends. From a young age, Cris loved the idea of giving and helping others. His enormous heart led him to be a sweet, genuine, and caring person. He was always a confident being in everything he did. He was very inspired to always do better as a person day after day. After graduating high school, he then went to Tulsa Welding School. Shortly after graduating Tulsa, Cris went on to follow his path to success. He accomplished so much in such little time. Other aspirations Cris had include working on cars with his friends and spending quality time with his loved ones. Cris was a loving and kind hearted person. He was always in a happy and outgoing spirit. Cris never let anything ruin his mood and was always the uplifter. He preached, to everyone, the importance of always living life to the fullest. He truly lived his life unapologetically which made him even more lovable. It was never a dull moment when he was around. Cris will always be remembered, respected, and loved for his kind hearted soul. He may be gone, but he will never be forgotten. He will always live on in the hearts of everyone who loved him. Funeral services will be held at 9:00am on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Monroe. Visitation will follow from 10:30am until 12:30pm at Holland Funeral Service.
