Dateline: Waxhaw, NC Clay Thomas Scott, 28, passed away suddenly February 17, 2016. Clay was born in Mecklenburg County on December 17, 1987 to Thomas William and Terry Sheppard Scott. Clay attended Barton College, and had a love for animals, sports, Virginia Tech football and the Carolina Panthers. Clay loved his family more than life itself. His family felt the same way about him. I love you were the most frequent words that came forth from his mouth to his family members and the family's five dogs. �He was the family's "dog whisperer" as animals we're drawn to Clay because of his gentle ways.� He will be so missed by his family. But now Clay is in Jesus's family telling Jesus he loves him and Jesus telling Clay the same. A service to celebrate Clay's life will be held Sunday February 21, 2016 at 3:00 PM in Weddington United Methodist Church with Dr. Terry Moore officiating. The family will receive friends and family immediately following the service. In addition to his parents Clay is survived by his sister Amanda Scott; grandmother Edna Sheppard, aunts Angela Sheppard, Martha Tereska, Sally Scott; uncles, Mark Scott, Tim Scott, Barry Sheppard and Terry Tereska; cousins, Erika McCracken, Sammi Sheppard, Lincoln Sheppard, Adam Tereska, Scott Tereska, John Tereska, Bekah Tereska, Kendall Scott, Hunter Scott, and Peyton Scott. Clay was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents William H. Scott, Jane F. Scott; maternal grandfather Terrell Sheppard; and his dear friend Jason Moore.
