Charlie James Long Jr, 89, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 27, 2026. He was born October 9, 1936 to the late Charlie James Long Sr. and Jenny Love Long.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at Lakeland Memorial Park, 1901 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC 28112.

The family will receive friends prior to the graveside from 9:00am until 10:30am at Holland Funeral Service, 806 Circle Drive, Monroe, NC 28112.

He is survived by his loving spouse, Josie Louise Long, daughter, Karen Long Darden, son, Brian Long, grandchildren, Clinton James Long, Garrett Timothy Long, Nevin James Darden, and Aaron Russell Darden, and great grandchildren, Kennedy Wren Long, and Theodore Resse Long.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
