� Charles Carry Tipton, 77, passed away March 4, 2017. Charles was born in Yancey County, North Carolina to the late Ed and Bertha Marie Haney Tipton. A service to celebrate his life will be held Wednesday March 8, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Solid Rock Baptist Church. Rev. Roger Nance will be officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Charles is survived by his wife Frances Tipton, son; William Glen Tipton of Wingate NC, daughter; Mellissa Tipton Helms of Rome, GA, sister; Josephine Ewing of Marietta Ga., and Grandchildren Jeremy Johnson, Logan Helms, Jordan Helms, and Daffney Barnette.
