Charles Franklin Hartis Sr. “Frankie”, 83, passed away peacefully June 1, 2026. He was born in Monroe, North Carolina on April 13, 1943 to the late LZ Hartis and Dorothy Hartis.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM Saturday, June 06, 2026 at Holland Funeral Service, 806 Circle Drive, Monroe, NC 28112 with a Memorial Service beginning at 1:00PM.
Frankie was an accomplished Scout. He began his journey in the Scouts as a Club Leader and carried through with the Weblos and Boy Scouts for 54 years. Additionally, he served with the Girl Scouts for 12 years. At the end of his journey with the Scouts, he was awarded with the Silver Beaver and Wood Badge as a Club Leader. In his professional career, Frankie worked as a maintenance supervisor for Delmar Printing, Malack, and Paul Hoge Candle Factory.
In 1962 Frankie enlisted into the Army where he went on to proudly serve his country for over 2 years and received the Good Conduct Medal for his service. On October 4, 1962, Frankie married the love of his life, Elizabeth Geraldean Hartis. The two carried through life together for 63 years starting a family and cherishing every moment they were able to spend together.
In addition to his parents, Frankie is preceded in passing by his sister, Elaine Rowell.
Frankie is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth Geraldean Hartis; children, Tammy Helms (Tommy), Charlies Hartis, Jeff Hartis (Annette), and Donnie Hartis; sister, Patsy Gupton; brothers, Lewis Hartis (Kay), and Eddie Hartis; grandchildren, Jamil Hudson (Caitlin), Donald Hudson (Karla), Katie Sellers (Jonathan), Colton Helms, Johnathan Hartis (Natalie), Jessica Gunther (Dustin “Duck”), Krista Everhardt (Crystal), Kris Hartis (Danielle), Kyle Hartis (Jesse), Brandi Rogers (Michael), Chris Helms, Caleb Helms (Kristen), and Wesley Hartis (Krystal); and 32 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family. Holland Funeral Service is serving the Hartis Family.
