Buford Malon Tarlton, Sr., age 76, passed away at his home in Monroe, NC the morning of Friday, September 20th, 2019. Buford had his son, Buck, and wife, Joyce, by his side as he made his way to walk with the Lord. Buford is survived by his wife whom he adored for 56 years, Joyce Purser Tarlton Of Monroe, NC, his son Buck Tarlton and wife Julie of Wingate, NC, daughter Karen Deese and husband Roy, of Denton, NC, son Jamie Merritt of Pageland, SC, brothers Melvin Tarlton, Rick Tarlton, Ronald Tarlton, and grandchildren Jennifer Tarlton, Shane Phifer, Jessica Milam, Julie Tarlton, Adam Hartsell, Dylin Tarlton, Beth Deese, and great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Hailey, Braydon, Jordyn, Peyton, Walker, Matthew, Callie, Nathan, And Adaline. The family will receive friends at his residence Sunday Afternoon 9/22/2019. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday September 23, 2019 at Lakeland Memorial Park. Burford, known by most as Daddy and Pawpaw, was most passionate about The Lord having been a minister for over 35 years. After losing his hearing at a relatively young age in life, he was faced with many challenges but never strayed from his Faith. He adored his wife and children and loved nothing more than the laughter of all the great grandchildren. He enjoyed the outdoors, loving to hunt and fish always catching the "biggest" fish. He was always outside working on his garden, mowing his yard, or working on his next project in the building out back. For anyone that knew him knew that his conversations were many and his wisdom was endless. Holland Funeral Service & Crematory is serving the family.
