Brenda Capel Stellpflug, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on August 4, 1948, in Chadburn, North Carolina, Brenda was raised in Waxhaw, NC, where she developed a love for her community and the rich traditions that came with it.

Brenda's life was marked by her love for family, particularly her daughter Caroline Haire and her cherished grandchildren, Blake and Brittany Hassenplug. She relished in the moments spent with them, creating lasting memories that will forever resonate in their hearts. Brenda's warmth and devotion to her family became the cornerstone of her life, and she was proud to witness the growth of her grandchildren.

An enthusiastic dancer, Brenda had a passion for shag dancing and showcased her talent by competing and winning several shag contests throughout her life. Her lively spirit and exuberance on the dance floor were a true reflection of her vibrant personality, which also extended to her love of wine and shopping, where she found joy in the smallest of pleasures. Brenda possessed a creative flair, especially during the holiday season, where she took joy in decorating and cooking, bringing friends and family together to celebrate.

A lover of the beach, Brenda often found solace by the shore, longing for the sound of the waves and the sun’s warm embrace. She held dear the memories made there, often reminiscing about the joy it brought her and her mother.

Brenda is survived by her daughter, Caroline Haire; her grandson, Blake Hassenplug; her granddaughter, Brittany Hassenplug; and her significant other, Darrel.

The memory of Brenda Capel Stellpflug will continue to live on through her loved ones, who carry her legacy of love, joy, and the appreciation of life’s simple pleasures. A graveside service to honor her life will be held at Waxhaw City Cemetery on December 21, 2025, at 12:00 PM. Her spirit will be deeply missed but fondly remembered.
