Obituary

Bonnie Blue Turner, 90, went to her heavenly home on August 23, 2026. She was born March 10, 1936 to the late Doris “MiMi” Blue. Bonnie was a faithful servant to the Lord, and her family finds comfort in knowing that she is resting in the arms of her Lord and Savior.

Services will be held from the graveside at 10:00am on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at Forest Lawn West Cemetery, 4601 Freedom Dr, Charlotte, NC 28208

She will be remembered by her short but mighty personality. She cherished every conversation she was able to have with her family and friends and loved having everyone together to tell a story. Bonnie was raised in Mt. Airy, North Carolina. During high school, Bonnie stood barely five feet tall but played the bass drum in the marching band. Bonnie had many accomplishments throughout her life. Among those accomplishments, Bonnie was one of two women in Surry County, North Carolina to receive the highest-level Girl Scout Honor and by the age of 16 she became the piano player with her home church, Bannertown Baptist Church. Additionally, she worked diligently as a Registered Nurse for over 30 years. Bonnie also enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. She had an impressive gemstone collection, loved to work in her yard, attend the yearly Christmas Show, and loved to knit and sew. Bonnie would knit bells and dish rags all year round and would be sure to hand them out to all her friends and family during the holiday season. She was an accomplished seamstress; she even designed and created her own prom dress. Bonnie also loved her kitties, having loved and raised eight throughout her life. She will be cherished in the hearts of all those who knew and loved her.

Bonnie is preceded in passing by her beloved husband, Tommy “Double T” Turner, mother, Doris “MiMi” Blue, sisters, Norma Futch, and LaVerne Hull, and brother, Wayne Blue.

She is survived by her daughter, Delana Turner Snead (Charlie), grandchildren, Neil Rappe, and Lauren Smart (Michael); multiple great-grandchildren ages from 22 years old to 3 years old and one precious baby on the way.
