Obituary

Bobby Alexander McRorie, born on April 24, 1942, at the homeplace in Unionville, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2026. Throughout his distinguished life, Bobby was deeply rooted in his community and beloved by his family, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and devotion.

Bobby dedicated his professional life to being a hard working warehouse supervisor at Yale security for many years that exemplified his commitment and reliability. His devotion extended beyond his career; he was a great father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who cherished every moment spent with his family, often relishing in the simplicity and beauty of the outdoors.

He is survived by his loving spouse, Ellen Belk McRorie, with whom he shared a heartwarming marriage lasting 64 years, having originally fallen in love as high school sweethearts. Together, they nurtured a beautiful family that includes their children, Bobby McRorie (Paula) and Kim Johnson (Danny). Bobby took immense pride in his grandchildren, Maddison Horne (Zack), Joshua Johnson (Holly), Tyler Johnson, Brandon Gallimore (Amber), and Kyler Gallimore (Chelsea), and found boundless joy in the laughter and innocence of his great-grandchildren, Emmy Horne, Kori Horne, and Wesson Horne.

Bobby also shared a cherished bond with his brother, David McRorie (Maxine), reflecting the strong family values he upheld throughout his life. In addition to his immediate family, he was blessed to have special friends like Brice Starnes and Bill Medlin, who brought warmth and companionship to his life.

His commitment to his faith was evident as he actively contributed to Sandy Ridge Baptist, serving as a deacon and holding several offices for over 35 years. His legacy in the church remains a testament to his dedication and love for his community.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Cyrus McRorie and Rosa Mae Starnes, whose influence shaped his life and values. A life well-lived, Bobby will be deeply missed by all who had the fortune of knowing him, as he leaves behind a cherished memory and a lasting impact on his family and friends.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Farmer and the staff for their special care and support during this time.
