Billy Keith Oxendine, 49, of Wingate, North Carolina, passed away surrounded by the love of his family. He spent much of his life in Union County, where he built a career and a reputation that spoke for itself.

Billy worked in fire suppression for over twenty years, a trade he was proud to call his own. He went on to build that expertise into his own business, Native Fire Control, where his name became synonymous with hard work and reliability.

Long before that, Billy was a standout on the baseball field. He grew up playing the game he loved, and the friendships he made there lasted a lifetime — many of the people who knew him best still remember him from those days on the diamond.

Billy's interests ran wide. He found joy in landscaping and in caring for his two Dobermans, who were as much a part of his daily life as anyone. But more than anything, Billy was happiest providing for his family. He carried a deep, quiet drive to make sure the people he loved had the best of everything he could give them — and he lived that out every day.

Billy is survived by his mother, Sherrie Sanderson; his brother, Chris Oxendine, and Chris's son, Kadyn Oxendine; and his two daughters, Alex Oxendine and Kasey Oxendine, along with Kasey's son, Mavrik Carter. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Jerry Sanderson, and his grandmother, Billie Plowman.

Billy will be remembered for the life he built with his own two hands, the friends he made along the way, and the love he poured into his family. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, loyalty, and devotion that his family will carry forward.

Services will be held at Holland Funeral Service in Monroe, NC, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Saturday, July 25.
