Bernie McDougall, 82, earned his wings on June 10, 2026. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts on May 23, 1944, to the late Daniel McDougall and Jeanette Young McDougall and raised by his late grandmother, Nettie Young.

A Service will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at Holland Funeral Service. 806 Circle Drive, Monroe, NC 28112. Bernie will be laid to rest at Centerview Baptist Church immediately following the service. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home prior to the service from 2:00pm until 2:45pm.

In addition to his parents an grandmother, Bernie is preceded in passing by son, Christopher McDougall, grandson, Jace McDougall, and brothers, Nelson Young, Timothy McDougall and Ronald McDougall.

Bernie is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Sandra McDougall, children, Scott McDougall, Dawn Tillman, Joe McDougall (Beth), Shawn McDougall, Christen Reeves (Jonathan), and Nichole Steadman (Jace), Evan Watkins and Teagan Watkins; grandchildren, Josh Burrell , Krista McDougall, Nicholas Burrell (Porshua), Joseph McDougall, Shawn Washburn, Shalyn McDougall, Cherish McDougall, Christopher McDougall, Clayton McDougall, Kade Steadman, and Lira Reeves; 20 great-grandchildren, sisters, Jane Regan, and Carol MacLeod, step-grandchildren, Charles Watkins, Dale Watkins, Barbara Watkins, and Sherry James.
