Beatrice "Betsy" Stryker Hillhouse

At 93 years old, Betsy passed away peacefully on February 2, 2026. She was born March 11, 1932 daughter to the late Beatrice and Gysbert Stryker of Bound Brook, New Jersey. She will be remembered for being a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and wife to the late William C. Hillhouse of over 66 years.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children and their spouses, Judy B. Glaser (Kurt), William G. (Sharon), David S. (Jeannine), Jeffrey C. (Wendy), and grandchildren, Kevin W., Megan M., Emily E. N., Sidney H., and Rene G.

Betsy graduated from Bound Brook High School and attended Syracuse University and Parsons School of Design in New York City. She was a resident of Wayne, New Jersey, where she attended Wayne Presbyterian Church and later a resident of New Bern, North Carolina where she attended First Presbyterian Church of New Bern and later became a resident of Fort Mill, South Carolina.

She had a love for music and art. She was a very talented artist who took her inspirations from her love of birds and nature. Additionally, Betsy loved to sing. She was an avid singer and cherished every time she was able to sing in the church choir. Betsy also found joy in the simple things. She loved watching soap operas, gameshows, and sports.
