Barry Griffin, 76, passed away May 8, 2026. He was born in Monroe, North Carolina on March 28, 1950, to the late Mace Lee Griffin and Thelma Grant Griffin. Barry will be remembered for having the biggest heart. He was truly a teddy bear who loved hanging out with his grandchildren and having his family over for a BBQ. Barry was a man who loved life. He enjoyed the simple pleasures in life whether that was piddling around the house, singing karaoke, or tending to his garden. He would often be found riding his motorcycle with his friends and cherished every charity run he was able to ride in. Barry will be greatly missed and cherished in the hearts of all those who knew and loved him.

A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00pm on Thursday, May 28, 2026 at Holland Funeral Service, 806 Circle Drive, Monroe, NC 28112. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 11:00am until 11:45am.

Following the conclusion of the service the family invites everyone to join them in a Motorcycle Motorcade for Barry's final ride. The ride will end at the VFW in Monroe, North Carolina where all can gather for a Celebration of Life, toasting with a cold beer for Barry's final send off.

In addition to his parents, Barry is preceded in passing by his daughter, Melanie Starnes.

Barry is survived by his daughter, Shannon Griffin (Michael Helms), son, Josh Griffin (Chris Andrews), grandchildren, Zoe Kiser (Joey), Morgan Starnes, MacKenzie Starnes (Jeremy), and Gabe Flores; great-grandson, Rowan Simmons, nieces and caretaker, Wendy Phillips and Julie Cook; and numerous other special nieces and nephews.
