Obituary

Barbara "Sue" Jameson, a beacon of love and strength, passed away peacefully at her home on December 26, 2025, surrounded by her beloved family. Born on November 1, 1951, Barbara's journey through life was marked by her unwavering faith in God, her dedication as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at Holland Funeral Service,806 Circle Drive, Monroe, NC 28112. Ms. Jameson will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn East Cemetery immediately following the service.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 1:00 pm until 1:45pm.

For 25 years, Barbara thrived as an administrative assistant in healthcare before retiring. Her career not only showcased her incredible work ethic but also her commitment to serving others-something she carried into all aspects of her life. Barbara was a graduate of Dubuque Senior High School and furthered her education at the University of Kentucky, shaping the person she became.

Barbara's spirit was defined by her kindness, patience, and selflessness. She was a nurturing soul, always ready to give and share, and she had a profound impact on everyone who crossed her path.

Growing up, she cherished the moments spent with her family, particularly her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Each trip to the mountains filled her heart with joy, and her passion for sewing often found her creating beautiful gifts for those she loved.

In a remarkable testament to her love, Barbara married her husband, Rickie Helms, on May 28, 1993, and their bond flourished over the past 32 years. She is survived by her loving husband, Rickie; daughter, Barbara Miller Snyder and her husband, Darren; stepchildren Tiffany Helms Griffin and her husband, Bobby, and Bridget Helms Ronk and her husband, John; along with a devoted daughter-in-law, Amy Miller Griffin. Barbara's legacy will live on in the laughter and love of her nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, who will forever treasure the moments they shared with her.

Barbara is also survived by her sisters, Ginny Kruser, Kay Fonck, and Connie Roth, who will continue to carry her spirit in their hearts. While she leaves behind so many who adored her, we remember that her love transcends even the greatest loss.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Schmitt "Smitty"; her mother, Virginia Keith; her sons, Dannie Ray Miller Jr. and Michael Ray Miller; and her brother, Harold Jameson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to VIA Health Partners or to Meals on Wheels.

With gratitude, the family would like to say a special thank you to her amazing healthcare team, Libba, Sabrina, and Aubrey, our caregiver, Ms. Sharon, and the friends who have been with us through this difficult time.
