It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Anita Darlene Whitley. She passed away on May 30, 2026 in the care of Catawba County Hospice. Anita Darlene Whitley was born on March 31, 1948, to Arthur D. Williams and Dora T. Williams.

She was one of five siblings and loved her family dearly. She is survived by her sister, Mary Lou Hartis, and was preceded in death by her three brothers, A.D. Williams, Chris Williams, and Andy Williams. Her legacy lives on through her two children, Jennifer W. Johnson and Darron F. Whitley, and her five grandchildren.She had a vibrant spirit and a passion for life. She loved to travel with her family and friends, and she found great joy in the outdoors. Her creative side flourished through photography and painting, and she held a special affection for flowers and hummingbirds.

Throughout her life, she was a faithful servant of the Lord and loved Jesus with her whole heart. She was truly loved by everyone who met her and will be dearly missed by all. 

The family will receive friends at 12:00pm on Friday, June 5, 2026 at Holland Funeral Service, 806 Circle Drive, Monroe, NC 28112.  

A graveside service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday June 5, 2026, at Lakeland Memorial Park, 1901 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112.
