Angela Godfrey Campbell, 72, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2026. Born on February 11, 1954, Angela was the daughter of the late Allen Ray Godfrey and Gailya Barton Godfrey.

Angela had a lifelong love of reading and writing, and her home was always filled with books. She worked as a sports writer specializing in auto racing and was honored by the National Motorsports Press Association, receiving first place for Feature Writing in 2016 and an award in the Spot News category in 2017.

She is survived by her sons, Carl Robert Campbell and James Paul Campbell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Robert Campbell; her parents, Gailya Barton Godfrey and Allen Ray Godfrey; her sister, Barbara Ann Godfrey Nixon; and her brother, Larry Allen Godfrey.

Angela will be remembered for her strength, kindness, talent, and unwavering dedication to her family. She will be deeply missed.
